Eden Project, The

Eden Project, The - click to view full size

As a part of a summer holiday I stayed in a Cornish holiday park with my Parents for a week. During that time we visited the Eden Project; in fact it was the main reason I went on the holiday with my folks. My Parents weren't overly keen on the idea of spending a day at a giant garden centre but we went anyway.

After going through the entrance building you step out onto the main walkway that leads down through the beautifully layed out valley teaming with all sorts of UK plants. All the time getting ever closer to the incredible bio-domes in the distance.

The Bio-Domes themselves are incredible to look at and even more spectacular inside. The first dome we visited was like stepping into a rain forest, which is quite a change from the chilly UK weather outside. This is the main dome and takes a fair few hours to walk all the way through, and because of the climate and humidity it is also rather exhausting. The second dome is a great deal smaller and has a mediterranean feel (much cooler), it's no where near as impressive (in my opinion) as the primary dome but interesting never-the-less.

I found the Eden Project to be a great experience (even considering I don't like gardening), and well worth a visit, providing you don't mind hours of walking. I don't think my Parents were that impressed though.
