Leeds Music Festival 2003



The tents were up, the mud was flowing, the trip to actually get into the event was enough to knacker you out for the whole weekend, but we were eager to get started. There were 2 car loads of us to offload into the site, so we gathered as much as we could carry to go and build our tents. We built our tents in record time, 4 to be precise (1 solely for food and drink) then decided a drink was in order. Having spent 30mins smuggling a fridge and gas canister into the festival so we could have cold beers throughout the weekend we cracked open a brew and surveyed our small camp site.
Most of the larger acts were performing on the Main stage which is where we spent most of the festival - being pushed around as close to the stage as we could muster. These included "Junior Senior", "Blur", "Blink 182", "Metallica", "System of a Down", "Primal Scream", "Less Than Jake", "Sum 41", "Good Charlotte" and "Bowling For Soup" The highlight was probably seeing linkin' Park as we were right at the front although by the time we left we were wearing more of everybody else' sweat than our own.
The radio One stage was great too. It was hear that we heard "The All American Rejects", "Jet" and "Alien Ant Farm" for the first time. I also had the pleasure of hearing (there were too many people in the tent to see anything) "Electric Six" perform "Gay bar" live which was an experience! Sarah Cox also provided some great entertainment when she walked onto the main stage to a chorus of "Who Are Ya, Who Are Ya!".
