Spurs pay the penalty!

Carling Cup final 2009
Mr A.Dmin

Carling Cup final 2009 - click to view full size

Two attacking teams, two managers desperate to win should have made for a great game... BUT the Wembley jitters seemed to take their toll and the game seemed somewhat muted.

The best chances fell to Spurs but good goalkeeping from Ben Foster kepot them out and then a last minute shot from Ronaldo hit the post and the rebound fell to Nani....as Spurs manager "Harry" said of his own player Darren Bent recently...."my wife could have stuck that in" this statement could have been equally applied to Nani!!

However it was not to be, and the game proceeded to extra time and penalties. I always fely that Utd's experience (Giggs) and world class players ( Ronaldo and Tevez) were likley to win the penalty shoot out.
The enclosed photo shows that I was sitting within spitting distance of the Cup presentation...but the churlish Wembley stewards would not let us get any nearer to cheer the boys.

Great day out. Wembley is an amazing stadium

LoudBoyIf you ask me it was Spurs who looked like winning it. They pretty well dominated for large periods of the match and only let themselves down on penalties.....should have borrowed Fosters i-Pod!
