I went with 5 friends (from my band) to this gig and have mixed feelings about it. Sure it was good to see Genesis back together again and they put on a great show but it was sad that more of the original members could not make it or were not invited. It was said that Peter Gabriel had other commitments and because of that they had decided to do more of the newer stuff which excluded Steve Hackett (great shame even though Daryl Stuermer puts on a great show).
The staging was amazing and helped raise their game, but cramming some of the older songs into an at times messy medley was a bit sad. They did however do some of the old favourites in their entirety (ie: Afterglow, Carpet Crawlers , The Cage and I Know What I Like).
Would I go again...I guess the answer is yes because they were and are still one of the most interesting and accomplished bands the UK has ever produced.
Come on PG - please make it next time!
Oh and I have added a scan of my ticket to prove I was there!
