WATCHING THE SUN RISE FROM MOUNT BROMO IN JAVA

In 1991/2 my friend and I went travelling around the world. One of my most memorable events was waking up in the middle of the night in order to climb Mount Bromo in Java in time for the sunrise. Thought my leg muscles were going to explode at one point but effort was totally worth it, so tranquil! We took one of the hired donkeys back! Would love to hear if anyone else has done this. No doubt commercialism has caught up with Indonesia and you can catch a coach to the top now!
