The Great North Run is the largest half marathon event in the world with over 47,000 runners taking part each year! This exhilarating run takes you through Newcastle, Gateshead and South Shields clocking up 13.1 miles in total.
The 2009 Great North Run was held on 20 September and was started by Sting.
