On the 1st February 2009 the United Kingdom witnessed the start of it's worst winter weather conditions for nearly 18 years.
Snow fell across the UK and millions of people were snowbound and unable to get to work. Trainlines, roads and airports all suffered and many commuters had no choice but the stay at home.
Despite the weather being forecast for many days before hand, the councils failed to get to grips with the unprecidented levels of snow and ice.
