The Notting Hill Carnival, which has been held every August Bank Holiday since 1966, is the world's second largest street party, after the Rio Carnival in Brazil.
The 2008 Carnival was well attended as usual and had it's usual gluten of colour, music art and dance.
About 250,000 partied on the first day of festivities on Sunday which saw children in colourful costumes parade through the three-mile route.
Security was tight all along the route and police officers patrolling the carnival arrested 165 people on the last day.
The arrests were in connection with an assault, possessing an offensive weapon, drink driving, theft, public order and drugs.
