Epsom Derby 2008
New Approach, ridden by Kevin Manning and trained by Jim Bolger, held off the challenge of Tartan Bearer to win the Epsom Derby.
Last year's champion two-year-old, who was second in the English and Irish Guineas this year won by half a length.
The horse's participation at Epsom was in doubt up until earlier this week but trainer Bolger opted to allow him run.
The favourite Casual Conquest finished back in third, just ahead of Doctor Fremantle.
