It is a misconception to think that Genesis were a real band at Charterhouse... Writing in the excellent book Genesis Chapter and Verse. Anthony Phillips comments on page 24 " It is a misconception to think Genesis existed as a group at Charterhouse. It didn't. It existed only as four songwriters."
