Schooldays with Keith Richard of the Rolling Stones

I spent my teenage years in Wilmington, nr Dartford in Kent and went to Willmington Grammar School for boys, just off Dartford Heath. Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones was also at the same school a couple of years ahead of me. After completing my secondary schooling I than went onto Sidcup School of Art. I was surprised to find that Keith Richards had also done the same (although he was kicked out of the college probably or guitar playing rather than undertaking art studies).

That first year that I was at Sidcup the Rolling Stones played at out Christmas Party in Albany Park, Near Sidcup - this was before they had had their first hit. They were a bigger band then and had a piano player. We probably did not take any extra notice of them at the time as there were so many young bands in the 60's. I was even in one myself during college.

I have vivid memories of those days and have recently made contact with some of my fellow students through "Friends Reunited" and we have spoken of the "first" Stones concert that we all were present at all those years ago.
